Assignment Description
3500-word report (50%)
A 3500-word final individual report, 50% of the final mark.
The final individual report will be a business plan for the development of a new venture. The
business plan needs to fulfil two conditions:
– It needs to be for a new venture (i.e., plans for existing business will not be accepted),
and
– It needs to be based on first-hand market data that validates the product/service/idea
(market research).
Plans that do not fulfil these two requirements will receive a fail. The plan should be written as if it
will be presented to a group of potential investors. Penalties will be applied to over-length
essays; five marks will be deducted for every 100 words or part thereof over the word limit.
Additional Information
The plan should be written as if it will be presented to a group of potential investors. Penalties will
be applied to over-length essays; five marks will be deducted for every 100 words or part thereof
over the word limit.
The plan is expected to be based mainly on the author’s vision, although it should also be based
on reputable literature and evidence. For the latter, the expectation is to have a minimum of 15
references in each plan.
